A mother has been charged following the alleged fatal stabbing of one child and serious injury to two others in Australia's Blue Mountains. Emergency services responded on Sunday to reports of three children and a woman found with stab wounds in a vehicle in Valley Heights.
A five-year-old child died at the scene. Two other children, aged one and three, were taken to Westmead Children’s Hospital and are reported to be in a critical but stable condition. The 42-year-old woman was also transported to Westmead Hospital.
The woman was charged on Tuesday with murder (DV) and two counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent to murder. She was refused bail and is scheduled to appear in court next month. New South Wales police stated that the woman had not previously come to their attention and investigators are not seeking anyone else in connection with the incident.
