Gwent Police have launched a murder investigation following the death of Anthony "Tony" Jones, 56, from Brecon. Mr Jones sustained life-threatening injuries during an incident described as "violent disorder" in Pontnewynydd, near Pontypool, on Thursday.
Firearms officers from Gwent Police were called to the scene. Following Mr Jones's death, which was announced on Saturday, officers are now conducting a murder investigation.
Seven men, aged 31, 39, 40, 45, 59, 61, and 73, have been arrested in connection with the disorder and remain in police custody. Mr Jones's family is being supported by specialist officers.
Det Ch Supt Anne-Marie Salwey has appealed for motorists with dashcam footage from Hospital Road, Mill Road, and surrounding areas between 6pm and 9pm on Thursday to come forward. Police are also seeking anyone with information, CCTV, or dashcam footage from the area between 7pm and 7:30pm BST on Thursday.
