Murder investigation launched after man dies in south London home

A murder investigation has been launched after a man in his 30s was found with serious head injuries at a property in south London. Officers were called by the London Fire Brigade to Poynders Road, Lambeth, at approximately 8:35 PM BST on Friday.

The Metropolitan Police stated that the man was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers.

Det Ch Insp Alison Foxwell, who is leading the investigation, said that detectives are working to establish what happened. She added that this is believed to be an isolated incident, with no evidence to suggest a wider risk to the public. No arrests have been made, and a crime scene remains in place as inquiries continue.
