A new six-part comedy-drama, 'Break Clause', has premiered, created by Jess Bray, known for her work on 'Big Boys' and 'We Might Regret This'. Directed by Alice Snedden, the series explores the realities of post-university life.
The show depicts a character, Ben, who is an unemployed writer and resorts to skip diving to save on groceries. He initially declines a medical trial for money due to moral concerns but changes his mind when he learns it pays £800 per study.
The series also highlights class differences, with Ben, a northerner from Leeds, resenting his Mexican-American girlfriend, Lil, who has a job with an architectural practice and a "big fucking bank account," while he worked in an ice-cream van to afford the move to London.
