A new free repair shop, the Jericho Repair Shop, is set to launch this Saturday, 2 October 2026, in Oxford. The initiative will offer assistance with repairing bikes, electrical items, computers, and clothes at St Barnabas CE Primary School in Jericho.
Organiser John Mair stated that everyone is welcome, and donations will be used to cover rental costs and advertising for the event. Mair expressed hope that the repair shop could continue on a monthly basis, specifically on the first Saturday of November and December, if there is sufficient interest.
Mair decided to start the Jericho Repair Shop after a positive personal experience with a similar service in Wolvercote. He noted that such initiatives help prevent people from discarding items.
