A new cinematic adaptation of Jane Austen’s novel, 'Sense and Sensibility', has been released in UK cinemas. Directed by Georgia Oakley, the film features Daisy Edgar-Jones as Elinor and Esmé Creed-Miles as Marianne, set against a backdrop of various English country estates and landscapes.
Key filming locations include Kingston Russell House in West Dorset, which served as Norland Park, and Ditsworthy Warren House on Dartmoor, used for Barton Cottage. West Wycombe Park in Buckinghamshire was chosen for Ferrars House, while Mothecombe Beach in Plymouth stood in for Barton Beach.
Rainham Hall, a National Trust property in London, provided interiors for Mrs Jennings’ London house. An exhibition detailing the filming process, including costume and prop displays, is open at Rainham Hall from 24 September to 19 December, accessible with a general admission ticket.
Other locations featured are Knebworth House in Hertfordshire and Broughton Castle in Banbury, which was used for scenes at Barton Park House and the grounds of Mr and Mrs Palmer’s home.
