New Zealand came from behind to defeat the Lions 41-35 at Ellis Park, maintaining their unbeaten status on their South Africa tour. The All Blacks overcame an 18-point deficit in the second half to secure the victory.
This win means New Zealand has beaten all four provincial opponents during their six-week, eight-match tour. They also previously defeated the Springboks 33-16 at Ellis Park in the first Test match.
New Zealand scored seven tries, with Ethan Blackadder, Rieko Ioane, and Emoni Narawa each scoring two, and Noah Hotham adding another. Richie Mo’unga, returning to the side, converted two tries, and Beauden Barrett converted one. The Lions' tries came from Nico Steyn, Sibabalwe Mahashe, Kelly Mpeku, Erich Cronje, and captain Francke Horn, all converted by flyhalf Chris Smith.
