Hull City's impressive unbeaten start to their Premier League campaign concluded today with a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United. The Magpies, playing at St James' Park, delivered a decisive early blow with goals from Joe Willock and Lewis Hall in the opening seven minutes of the match.

Willock, returning to the starting lineup, put Newcastle ahead with a low finish from Harvey Barnes' assist. Just four minutes later, Barnes again turned provider, setting up Hall to double the lead by dispatching the ball into the bottom right corner.

Newcastle had an opportunity to extend their lead further before the break, but Yoane Wissa's penalty was saved by Konstantinos Tzolakis. Hull City, however, found a lifeline in the 67th minute when substitute Mohamed-Ali Cho pulled one back, scoring just four minutes after his introduction.

Despite a late surge of attacks from the visitors, Newcastle managed to hold firm, securing the victory. This win comes five days after a 4-1 defeat to Leeds for Matthias Jaissle's side.
