Brighton is about to get its rock on as Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds descend upon the city like a sonic storm, leaving a trail of excitement in their wake. The band's homecoming concert at Preston Park on Friday, July 31, is just the beginning – they're taking over Resident record shop from Thursday, July 30, to Sunday, August 2, transforming it into a hub for fans to get their hands on exclusive merchandise and indulge in some musical mayhem.
As part of the takeover, fans can expect to score limited-edition goodies, including new and existing items specifically designed for the Preston Park show. These coveted collectibles will only be available at Resident and the concert venue itself – think one-of-a-kind tote bags, Bad Seeds branded merchandise, and maybe even some Cave Things exclusives.
But that's not all – music enthusiasts will also have a chance to get their hands on a limited-edition vinyl release (details to come) and enjoy discounts across the band's extensive album catalogue. And, in a lovely touch, fans can send physical letters to Nick Cave's popular Q&A platform, The Red Hand Files, via a special post box installed just for the occasion.
Meanwhile, Nick Cave's influence will extend far beyond the record shop, as he curates a series of five film screenings at the Duke Of York's Picturehouse. These personal picks have inspired and shaped his songwriting over the years, with each screening featuring a recorded introduction from Cave himself – offering a rare glimpse into his creative process.
The Preston Park concert marks a UK-exclusive performance for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and serves as a significant event in support of their critically acclaimed 2024 album, 'Wild God'. Speaking previously about the upcoming show, Cave expressed his excitement, stating, "I am thrilled beyond words to return to my beloved Brighton with The Bad Seeds to play Preston Park. It's a homecoming! It's going to be big, bad and beautiful. An epic show!!!" The band recently performed at Dublin's Malahide Castle and has been touring extensively across Europe, including appearances at Open'er and NOS Alive.
