Singer Noah Kahan has clarified a lyric from his song "End of August," featured on his fourth album, "The Great Divide." The lyric, "The minute that September hits, I'm going off my medicine," had caused confusion among fans.

In a Billboard interview published on Thursday, Kahan explained that when he wrote the lyric, he hoped to be ready to discontinue his medication by the end of August. However, he confirmed that he is still taking his antidepressants and advised, "Please do not go off your medication." He also joked, "Listen to that doctor on TikTok, not me."

Kahan, 29, has been open about his mental health journey, including his use of the antidepressant Lexapro. He previously told BBC One that medication provided a break from obsessive feelings and helped him realise he did not need to be in pain to create music.

What this means for you: Making any change in prescribed medication is unadvised without the advice of a doctor.
