British number two Cameron Norrie has booked his place in the Los Cabos Open quarter-finals, overcoming Australia's James Duckworth in straight sets. Norrie secured a 6-4 6-4 victory, setting up a clash with Bernard Tomic in the last eight.
Norrie, the fifth seed, fought back from 3-0 down in the first set against Duckworth and broke twice in the second set to seal his win. He is now the second-highest ranked player remaining in the draw.
Meanwhile, Naomi Osaka continued her strong form at the Washington Open, advancing to the quarter-finals. The third seed was leading Ashlyn Krueger 6-3 3-1 when Krueger retired from the match due to an ankle injury. Osaka will now face Italy's Elisabetta Cocciaretto in her third consecutive quarter-final.
In the men's singles event in Washington, 17-year-old Cruz Hewitt defeated Marcos Giron 6-3 6-4 on his main singles draw debut. Hewitt will now reunite with top seed Alex de Minaur in the last 16.
