Lando Norris of McLaren has secured pole position for the Spanish Grand Prix, recording a qualifying time of 1:31.824. He edged out drivers' championship leader Kimi Antonelli of Mercedes by just 0.011 seconds.
Max Verstappen of Red Bull qualified third, followed by Lewis Hamilton of Ferrari in fourth. Charles Leclerc and George Russell completed the top six qualifiers.
Carlos Sainz of Williams will start the race from 17th position after receiving a three-place penalty for impeding Valtteri Bottas during qualifying. Sainz expressed doubts about his car's competitiveness for the race.
