A new series titled "Stacked! How the north of England fell in love with American deli sandwiches" is set to explore the growing popularity of American regional deli sandwich culture across the North of England. Restaurant critic and food journalist Jimi Famurewa will discover how these sandwiches are being reinvented in cities such as Leeds, Manchester, and Newcastle.
Famurewa will sample various upgraded sandwiches, including hoagies, subs, and hero rolls, which people are reportedly queuing hours for. The series will also feature him learning to prepare an "everything sandwich" and a meatball sub described as so messy it needs to be eaten alone.
