A team of divers from Northampton Scuba School conducted a six-hour clean-up of the River Nene in Northampton on Saturday, 19 September. The event was organised in collaboration with Northampton Active and Northampton Rowing Club.

During the clean-up, divers retrieved two old shopping trolleys, a milk churn, several car tyres, an old bike, a drill, and a charger. Northampton Active loaned two canoes to support the divers, and Northampton Canoe and Kayak Club provided a ladder for safe water entry and exit.

Organisers from Northampton Scuba School stated their commitment to regularly removing waste from the River Nene and intend to return in the coming months. They also noted that the amount of waste collected indicates significant work remains, and the team will support regular dives throughout the year.
