The new owner of the Ernehale Pub in Arnold, Nottinghamshire, Jamie Thomas, said a man and a child broke into the premises on Sunday evening, 11 October 2026, and stole copper pipes. This caused the cellar to flood, with Mr Thomas estimating the damage will cost him "a few thousand" pounds to repair.

Mr Thomas, 30, who is renovating the former Wetherspoons pub, stated that the stolen items were worth approximately £20 in scrap. CCTV footage reportedly shows a man and a child scaling the pub wall.

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed a burglary investigation is underway, and no arrests have been made. The force believes two unknown offenders arrived in a small dark transit van, climbed onto the roof, and entered the boiler room to steal the pipes.

This is the second break-in at the pub since Mr Thomas took over in July, with the previous incident involving teenagers exploring and filming for TikTok.
