O2 has secured a record £200m deal to retain the naming rights for the London venue, the O2. This 10-year agreement is thought to be the largest renewal of its kind in UK history and will extend O2’s relationship with the venue until at least 2038.
The deal with Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) is estimated to involve O2 paying approximately £20m annually. This represents an almost 50% increase on the yearly amount from the previous deal, which was set to expire at the end of next year.
The sponsorship now stands as the second longest-running UK stadium naming rights deal, following Arsenal’s partnership for their London ground. Paul Samuels, president of global partnerships at AEG International, noted the venue's success, stating that it hosted 239 shows last year, significantly more than the 100 shows per year initially considered.
Newly published accounts reveal that 2025 was the O2's best year in its 19-year history, with pre-tax profits rising 18% to £76.5m and revenues climbing 14% to £148.6m. Gareth Griffiths, director of partnerships and sponsorships at Virgin Media O2, highlighted the deal's success, stating it was agreed within an exclusivity period.
