Oasis has filed an injunction to block the planned auction of archive recordings compiled by their former sound engineer, Huw Richards. The collection, which includes master recordings of concerts and rehearsals, was set to be auctioned with a guide price of between £1.2m and £1.6m.

The Manchester band's legal action prevented the sale of the archive, known as The Desk Tapes, just days before it was scheduled to take place on 3 October. The collection features 63 concert recordings, over 100 hours of rehearsals, and "unfiltered dialogue" between brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher.

Littleton Auctions, which was handling the sale, confirmed the recordings have been withdrawn from their 3 October auction due to legal proceedings. Owain Richards, son of Huw Richards, stated that Oasis has sued him and his father to prevent the auction, leading to an agreement to postpone the sale to resolve the dispute.
