The remake of 'The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time' is set to be released on November 5, 2026. This announcement was made during a Nintendo Direct showcase today, September 8, which detailed plans for the series' 40th anniversary.
The updated version of the 1998 adventure will feature overhauled visuals, fully voiced cutscenes, expanded character dialogue, symphonic orchestral music, and reworked camera and movement controls. New minigames, including one for creating music with a virtual ocarina, will also be included.
Nintendo boss Shigeru Miyamoto also teased a live-action 'The Legend Of Zelda' movie, which will be called 'The Legend Of Zelda' and is scheduled to hit cinemas next April. An official trailer was not shared, but the film is said to tell an "original story" inspired by the past 40 years of games.
Additionally, a live orchestral tour of 'The Legend Of Zelda' music will commence next year in Japan before visiting Europe, North America, and Australia. New amiibos and a special-edition Nintendo Switch 2 will be released alongside the 'Ocarina Of Time' remake. A new Zelda Lego set and a Master Sword toy from Hasbro are also planned for next spring.
