Ofqual has launched an update to its interactive map, offering a more detailed regional view of qualification outcomes across England. This marks the first time qualification results and subject uptake at local authority level will be published on results days.
The Ofqual Analytics platform, updated from 7 August, allows users to explore results broken down by local authority district, administrative county or unitary authority, and administrative region. This change responds to user feedback requesting more geographically accurate data and reflects the increasing importance of local data as decision-making is devolved.
The map displays the percentage of students achieving specific grades for each subject and the number of students who took each subject in a given area. The platform covers GCSEs, A Levels, T Level Technical Qualifications, and Performance Table Qualifications.
Sir Ian Bauckham, Chief Regulator at Ofqual, stated that this clearer data will enable local leaders, policymakers, students, and parents to better understand performance in their areas. Jon Andrews, Head of Analysis at the Education Policy Institute, noted that these new breakdowns will facilitate timely analysis of inequalities in outcomes across the country.
