Olivia Rodrigo has revealed she was the successful bidder for the vintage white Gunne Sax dress worn by Meg White on the cover of The White Stripes' 2003 album 'Elephant'. Rodrigo described the purchase as an “exorbitant amount of money”.
The dress was sold by Julien’s Auctions in May, exceeding its estimated value of between $4,000 (£3,000) and $6,000 (£4,500) to fetch $25,600 (£19,000).
Rodrigo had initially hoped to wear the dress during her performance at the Daisy Chain Fields festival in California in August, but decided against it due to the heat. She suggested she might wear it if the festival takes place in winter.
