The Rolling Stones are reportedly back in the studio, according to saxophonist Courtney Pine. The jazz musician revealed he recorded with Mick Jagger just weeks ago.
This news comes only three months after the band released their 25th studio album, 'Foreign Tongues'. Pine shared details of the session on BBC Radio 3’s Private Passions, in an episode scheduled to air this Sunday, October 11.
Pine stated, “I’ve just done another session a couple of weeks ago with him [Jagger] for The Rolling Stones.” There has been no official confirmation that this session is for a new Stones album. However, Mick Jagger told NME in June that he had already begun writing new material before 'Foreign Tongues' was even released.
'Foreign Tongues' was released on July 10 and became The Rolling Stones’ 15th UK Number One album, matching The Beatles' record.
