Ollie, an AI assistant designed for everyday family life, has achieved SOC 2 compliance. This framework involves an independent audit to confirm a company has formal controls in place to protect customer data and operate its systems securely.
According to Ollie co-founder and CEO Bill Lennon, this milestone signals to potential users that the assistant does not intend to collect personal data for other uses, such as AI training. Lennon stated in an interview with TechCrunch, "We're not sharing your data with anyone."
Ollie connects to calendars and email to help organise family schedules and offers tools for meal planning, grocery shopping, tracking to-dos, booking appointments, and paying bills via group chats. The company plans to potentially add household budget management in the future.
The assistant uses its own browser in the cloud when logging into websites or making payments on a user's behalf, sending the user a link to a remote session. This method requires users to log in to complete certain tasks, though Lennon anticipates future technological improvements.
