The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has today, 4 September 2026, released its latest collection of early experimental data and analysis on economic activity and social change across the UK. These real-time indicators are developed using rapid response surveys, novel data sources, and experimental methods.

Among the indicators published are weekly data on estimated automotive fuel demand per average transaction, and daily System Average Prices for gas and electricity in Great Britain. Housing market insights from Rightmove, covering weekly and monthly data for Great Britain, are also included.

Further statistics in development cover monthly UK new vehicle registrations and production, weekly data on potential redundancies from Insolvency Service HR1 forms, and weekly Energy Performance Building Certificates for properties in England and Wales. Other indicators include Revolut debit card spending, weekly shipping movements, daily UK flight numbers, and retail footfall across the UK.
