The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has today released its mid-2025 population estimates for England and Wales. These statistics provide national and subnational figures, broken down by administrative area, age, and sex.
The release includes data on internal migration within England and Wales, detailing moves between local authorities and regions. It also offers quality information on the estimates and an interactive tool for analysing population change from mid-2011 onwards.
These statistics are accredited official statistics, having been independently reviewed by the Office for Statistics Regulation (OSR). The OSR found them to comply with standards for trustworthiness, quality, and value in the Code of Practice for Statistics.
