The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has today, 15 September 2026, published its September 2026 release detailing the labour market across the regions of the UK. These statistics provide regional, local authority, and parliamentary constituency breakdowns of changes in UK employment, unemployment, and economic inactivity.
The release includes various labour market indicators for all UK countries and English regions. These indicators cover employment, unemployment, economic inactivity, workers' hours, jobs, and Claimant Count.
Some of the statistics, such as the Claimant Count for Wales and Scotland by constituency areas, and the Claimant Count by sex for local and unitary authorities and Westminster Parliamentary constituencies, are described as official statistics in development.
