The original stars of the Channel 4 sitcom The Inbetweeners are reportedly returning for a Netflix reboot. This news may alleviate concerns among fans who feared the main roles would be recast with younger actors.
Creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris confirmed the return of the sitcom in October 2025. At that time, it was not confirmed whether Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison would be cast, with Buckley stating in February that he had not been approached.
New reports suggest the actors will reprise their roles as Will, Simon, Jay, and Neil. Producers are also reportedly keen to secure Emily Atack, who played Charlotte Hinchcliffe in the original series.
The script for the reboot has reportedly been written and is ready, according to a source who spoke to The Sun. Buckley previously stated in February that any reboot should maintain the show's original "silly, disgusting humour."
