Rapture, a music venue located in Kirkwall, Orkney, is set to undertake a mini revamp in January. The venue, which opened in July 2025, is also planning a Battle of the Bands competition.
Operator Neil Stevenson stated that the winter break in January will be used to make the space work better for gigs. The Battle of the Bands competition will focus on original compositions, aiming to support local musicians and songwriting.
Rapture is situated in a redeveloped disused warehouse complex and features a main dance floor, a large bar downstairs, and a smaller bar with booth seating upstairs. The venue aims to programme a wide range of music to appeal to as many people as possible, according to Stevenson.
