A significant cannabis cultivation operation, featuring over 700 plants, has been uncovered by police inside a former pub in North London. The discovery was made at the disused White Hart pub on White Hart Lane, Tottenham, following intelligence received by officers.
Metropolitan Police officers executed a warrant at the premises, revealing a sophisticated setup dedicated to growing cannabis. The operation involved extensive lighting, ventilation, and irrigation systems spread across multiple rooms within the building, indicating a well-organised criminal enterprise.
Photographs released by the police show rows of mature cannabis plants under artificial lighting, alongside electrical wiring and ducting. The scale of the cultivation suggests a substantial potential yield, which, if sold, would have generated a significant sum on the illicit market.
While the plants have been seized and the site is currently being dismantled and cleared, no arrests have been reported in connection with the discovery. Police investigations are ongoing to identify those responsible for establishing and running the sophisticated cannabis farm.
This incident is not isolated, as police forces across the UK frequently uncover similar large-scale cannabis operations, often housed in disused commercial properties or residential buildings. These discoveries highlight the persistent challenge posed by organised crime groups involved in drug production and distribution.
