Research from property technology firm Acaboom, analysing over 123,000 market appraisal proposals from the first half of 2026, indicates that 35.9% of these proposals were sent more than six working hours after a valuation appointment. This timeframe is associated with a lower likelihood of converting into an instruction.
Previous analysis by Acaboom found that proposals delivered within six working hours are 73% more likely to secure an instruction compared to those sent more than 24 hours later. The study also revealed that 18.2% of proposals took over two working days to arrive, with 3.9% not sent until more than five working days after the appointment.
Regional variations were observed, with the North West recording the fastest median turnaround time of 2 hours and 41 minutes. In contrast, Scotland had the slowest median time, with proposals typically taking 5 hours and 21 minutes to reach prospective clients.
