A writer and her friend Layla, a new mother of a four-month-old, spent a baby-free weekend in Paris. They stayed at La Fondation hotel in the 17th arrondissement, which has doubles from £360 and a roof terrace with views of Sacré-Cœur.
The hotel is a 20-minute walk from the Moulin Rouge, which does not allow children under six. The friends also visited several wine bars near the hotel, including Cave en Terrasse, Un Air de Famille and Le 17.45.
Eurostar runs regular trains from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord, taking two hours and 16 minutes.
