The 2026 Paris Motor Show, held at the French capital’s Expo Porte de Versailles, is highlighting new directions in the global supercar market, with a focus on innovation, alternative fuels, and limited production runs.
French manufacturer Alpine unveiled its new in-house 'Special Projects' division at the show. This department is designed for high-end, low-volume models, with the A310 Vision concept car serving as a starting point for future exclusive projects. The A310 Vision, previously known by its codename PS1, is a modern homage to the 1970s V6 A310 sports car, featuring Formula One-derived chassis dynamics and carbon-composite construction.
BYD's luxury offshoot brand, Denza, introduced the Z Coupe, an electric supercar capable of 0-62mph in 2.25 seconds, or 1.96 seconds for the Racing edition. Denza's arrival marks a significant entry from China into Europe's traditional supercar segment. BYD recently became the world’s largest electric vehicle manufacturer.
Also on display is the JAS Tensei, a limited-production supercar from the Italian Honda motorsport partner. Production of the Tensei is limited to 35 examples, and it requires owners to provide a Honda NSX as a donor car, as it is a rebodied version of the legendary Japanese supercar. Pininfarina designed the new body and interior, while British racing developer Judd Power heavily modified the naturally aspirated engine.
