Partner learned of fake Rolex row before Leicester murder, court hears

The girlfriend of a student fatally stabbed in Leicester believed her partner owed his alleged killer "thousands" over a fake Rolex, a murder trial has heard.

  • Harper Dennis, 18, is accused of murdering Khaleed Oladipo, 20, in February.
  • Prosecutors allege the dispute stemmed from an unsuccessful attempt to sell a fake Rolex.
  • Oladipo sustained six wounds, including a fatal 13cm deep stab wound to the heart.

Shekeziah Fowler-Palmer, the partner of Khaleed Oladipo, told Leicester Crown Court on Thursday that she learned of a dispute over a fake Rolex between Mr Oladipo and Harper Dennis. Ms Fowler-Palmer said she believed Mr Oladipo owed Mr Dennis "thousands" following two calls from Mr Dennis on Christmas Day.

Prosecutors allege that University of Leicester student Harper Dennis, 18, stabbed De Montfort University student Khaleed Oladipo, 20, 13cm deep near De Montfort University in February. The court heard their friendship had reportedly soured after Mr Dennis's unsuccessful attempt to sell a fake Rolex given to him by Mr Oladipo.

Pathologist Dr Michael Biggs told the trial that Mr Oladipo's death was caused by a stab wound that punctured his heart's right ventricle. A post-mortem examination revealed Mr Oladipo had suffered six wounds, including five to the chest and a defensive wound to his thumb webbing.

Mr Dennis, of Bath Lane, Leicester, denies murder, possession of a bladed article, and failing to comply with a Section 49 notice to disclose his phone code. The trial continues.
