PGA Tour Commissioner Brian Rolapp has confirmed that there are no current plans for a route allowing LIV Golf players to return to the US-based PGA Tour. This statement, made on Tuesday, rules out a mechanism similar to the one used by Brooks Koepka earlier this year.
Rolapp's comments come one week after LIV Golf filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in New Jersey. He emphasised that discipline and accountability are crucial for any sporting league and remain core guiding principles for the PGA Tour.
The bankruptcy filing has cast doubt on the competitive future of several prominent players on the breakaway circuit. Major champions Jon Rahm and Bryson DeChambeau are listed among the leading unsecured creditors, with each reportedly owed in excess of $5 million.
LIV Golf hopes to exit bankruptcy by early 2027, aiming to finalise a new investment deal in the coming weeks. Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund, which maintains 100 per cent ownership of LIV Golf's equity, stated in April that further investment in the circuit no longer aligned with its strategy and that funding would cease at the end of the 2026 season.
