The Prime Minister welcomed President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine to Downing Street this afternoon. The leaders reflected on their call on Saturday and Russia’s attacks on civilians and energy infrastructure.
The Prime Minister announced the UK's latest package of Lightweight Multirole Missiles, in response to Russia’s use of jet-powered drones. The UK also plans to develop innovative military solutions for Ukraine, including retrofitting British capabilities onto equipment from other partners.
Discussions also covered how the UK could accelerate defensive support to Ukraine, particularly long-range missiles, ahead of the winter. The Prime Minister stated the UK would continue diplomatic efforts to support international supplies of defensive equipment.
