Sebastien Pocognoli has named his first 28-man Scotland squad, which includes six new call-ups and seven uncapped players. The selection features a refreshed defence and a new-look attack, with the midfield largely remaining the same.
The 39-year-old's first competitive match as head coach will be a Nations League opener against Slovenia on 26 September. This game marks the start of an extended four-game international period.
Among the new additions are uncapped defenders Luis Binks, Stephen Welsh, and Luke Graham. Josh McPake, signed by Hearts this summer, is also included in the midfield selection. In attack, Robbie Ure, Oli McBurnie, and Kieron Bowie are part of the squad, with teenage James Wilson also called up.
Scott McTominay is absent from the squad following a successful heart procedure. However, Billy Gilmour returns after suffering an injury before the World Cup finals. Experienced players such as John McGinn, Ryan Christie, Kenny McLean, and Lewis Ferguson are also included.
