Polestar's new electric SUV coupé will arrive in UK showrooms from August 2024, with prices starting at £57,995 for the entry-level Long Range Single Motor version.
The Polestar 4 comes in two variants, both powered by a substantial 102kWh battery. The single-motor model produces 268bhp and offers an estimated range of 379 miles, whilst the more powerful Long Range Dual Motor variant delivers 536bhp with a 360-mile range. The dual-motor version is priced at £64,995.
The SUV's most striking feature is the complete absence of a rear window. Instead, Polestar has fitted a roof-mounted camera that streams live footage to an interior screen, aiming to improve aerodynamics whilst maintaining rear visibility. This bold design choice sets the vehicle apart in an increasingly crowded premium electric market.
At its current pricing, the Polestar 4 positions itself as a direct rival to the Tesla Model Y and the forthcoming Porsche Macan EV. Buyers can enhance their vehicles with optional upgrade packages, including a Plus Pack for additional comfort and technology features, and a Performance Pack for the dual-motor variant.
The launch reflects the rapid expansion of Britain's electric vehicle market, as manufacturers compete to offer consumers increasingly sophisticated alternatives to traditional petrol and diesel cars. For British drivers considering the switch to electric, the Polestar 4's combination of range, performance and distinctive design adds another compelling option to the growing field.
