The family of Brian Low, who was murdered in February 2024, have spoken publicly about police initially failing to realise he had been shot. The 65-year-old was found dead near Aberfeldy, Highland Perthshire, with blood on his hands and face, but his death was not treated as suspicious for several days.
A post-mortem examination later confirmed Mr Low died from gunshot wounds, with shotgun pellets reportedly falling from the body bag before his body was examined. The murder inquiry was launched 10 days after his body was discovered, and a crime scene cordon was not established until six days after the discovery.
Retired gamekeeper David Campbell was arrested three months after the killing and is now serving a life sentence for Mr Low's murder. The trial heard of a decades-old grudge between Campbell and Mr Low, who had worked together at the Edradynate Estate for over 20 years.
