Thames Valley Police are investigating all lines of inquiry after a man died in hospital days following a suspected gas explosion at a bungalow in Newton Longville. Stephen Woodward, 67, was receiving treatment for his injuries after the blast on Sunday and his death was announced on Thursday.
The explosion, which happened at 09:45 BST, destroyed a home on Cobb Hall Road in the village near Milton Keynes. Detective Inspector Philip Turner-Robson stated that a thorough investigation is being conducted, including the time leading up to the explosion.
The force is working with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and has appealed for dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from the area from midnight on Sunday onwards. Gas distribution firm SGN confirmed an engineer arrived within 16 minutes of receiving a call from a member of the public just after midnight on Sunday.
