West Midlands Police are investigating after firebombs were thrown at supercars outside a wedding venue in Birmingham, resulting in two vehicles being set alight. The incident took place in the Sparkbrook area at around 8:30pm on Wednesday.
Guests reportedly ran from the Royal Shalimar on Highgate Road after three incendiary devices were thrown towards the venue's entrance and parked cars. Two supercars, identified as a Lamborghini and a McLaren, were set on fire. Three men dressed in black were reportedly seen leaving the scene in a white Volkswagen Golf.
West Midlands Fire Service confirmed that a fire engine attended after two vehicles were deliberately set alight, and one vehicle was made safe. No one was trapped or injured during the incident. The Royal Shalimar stated that their immediate priority was guest safety and expressed gratitude that no one was hurt.
Police have spoken to witnesses and reviewed CCTV footage. They have appealed for anyone with information to contact them via their website or by calling 101.
