A Ceremony of Remembrance took place at the UK Police Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. The event honoured police officers and staff who have died in service and marked the fifth anniversary of the memorial's dedication in 2021 by HRH The King, then HRH The Prince of Wales.
Chief Constable Simon Chesterman joined other senior police officers and colleagues to pay respects. The ceremony acknowledged the 4,655 names recorded in the UK Police Role of Honour, which lists officers who lost their lives "on or in the line of duty."
Among those remembered were two officers from the Civil Nuclear Constabulary: PC Daryl Street, who died in 2021 following a road traffic collision while travelling home from duty, and PC Marcus Bennett, who died on duty in 2025 from a sudden medical episode. Chief Constable Chesterman laid a wreath at the memorial, and Inspector Ken Murray represented the Constabulary, carrying its flag standard.
Chief Constable Chesterman stated, "For those we have lost, we will never forget the sacrifice they made and the service they gave. We stand shoulder to shoulder, with our colleagues and their families, to honour and remember them, now and forever."
