Police reassure public after dog walker's murder in Wiltshire

Mobile police stations are being set up in Ludgershall, Wiltshire, as detectives investigate the murder of Graham Pennycook.

Detectives investigating the murder of Graham Pennycook, whose body was discovered in woodland near Perham Down in Ludgershall, Wiltshire, have announced that mobile police stations will be deployed to offer community reassurance.

Mr Pennycook, 64, failed to return home on 24 September after walking his dog near the polo field. His body was found later that day, and a murder investigation was launched by Wiltshire Police's Major Crime Investigation Team.

A post-mortem examination indicated Mr Pennycook sustained "injuries consistent with an assault". Police have not made any arrests and are appealing for information or dashcam footage from between 09:00 BST and 18:00 BST on 24 September, specifically between 10:00 and 11:00 BST.

Det Ch Insp Phil Walker urged the public to approach officers if they feel anxious or wish to speak to police. Mobile police stations will be available at Memorial Hall, Ludgershall, on Saturday from 11:00 to 13:00, and on Sunday at Wellesley Road, Wellington Eagle Primary School from 11:00 to 12:00, and Memorial Hall from 12:00 to 13:00.

The cordon at the scene is expected to be reduced in size over the weekend once forensic enquiries are complete.

What this means for you: If you live in Ludgershall, mobile police stations will be available this weekend at Memorial Hall and Wellesley Road, Wellington Eagle Primary School, should you wish to speak to an officer.
