West Yorkshire Police are searching a site in Leeds in connection with the disappearance of Patricia Hall 34 years ago. Ms Hall, from Pudsey, was 39 when she vanished in 1992, and her body has never been found.
Officers from West Yorkshire Police's Major Investigation Review Team are searching a site at Fulneck in Pudsey. A force spokesperson confirmed the search for potential evidence follows recent information received by the team and is being carried out on a speculative basis.
Assistant Chief Constable Sarah Jones stated that Ms Hall's family has been informed and will be kept updated. She added that officers are keeping an open mind and would welcome any new or additional information.
An inquest into Ms Hall's presumed death opened in April this year and was adjourned to a date yet to be fixed. The coroner, Oliver Longstaff, said there was reason to suspect her disappearance was a consequence of a violent or unnatural death. Her husband, Keith, was tried for her murder in 1994 but was found not guilty.
