The long-awaited sequel, Practical Magic 2, has been filmed across several notable locations in the UK. The production, which reunites original stars Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock, used Leavesden Studios in Hertfordshire as a primary base.
At Leavesden Studios, the Victorian-style Owens family home, a significant element from the first film, was rebuilt from scratch on the back lot. Producer Denise De Novi noted that bringing the house back to life was a rewarding part of the movie's creation. Over 4,000 plants were brought in to recreate the renowned garden.
Beyond the studio, filming took place in various picturesque settings. The village of Hambleden, west of London, served as the fictional town of Thornfield. The historic Royal Standard of England pub in Beaconsfield was used for the exterior of the Thornfield Inn.
Other locations included Langleybury Mansion in Hertfordshire, which stood in for Harvard University rooms and UK lodgings, and Wormsley Estate in Buckinghamshire, used for the cottage of character Tom Lockland. Black Park Country Park provided sweeping views of British hills and forests, while The Royal Chelsea Hospital was used for a flower market and Harvard University exteriors. Cromwell Buildings in London provided the setting for Professor Ian Wright's apartment.
