US President Donald Trump is set to arrive at Dublin Airport on Saturday morning for a two-day visit to Ireland. During his trip, President Trump will hold a courtesy call with Irish President Catherine Connolly and a bilateral meeting with Taoiseach Micheál Martin.
The President is also expected to attend events at the US Ambassador to Ireland Ed Walsh's residence in Dublin's Phoenix Park. Following his engagements in Dublin, President Trump will attend the Amgen Irish Open golf tournament at his Trump International Golf Links and Hotel Doonbeg in County Clare.
Taoiseach Martin stated he looks forward to discussing issues of mutual interest and reaffirming ties between Ireland and the United States. President Connolly, who has previously been critical of the US and President Trump's actions regarding tariffs, is facing calls from Sinn Féin and other parties to raise Middle East issues during her meeting with the US President.
Irish authorities have been preparing for the visit for months, anticipating one of the largest security operations in the state's history. Thousands of people are expected to participate in protests planned for Dublin and Doonbeg.
