Preston North End have advanced in the Carabao Cup, overcoming Huddersfield in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw. The match was held at Goodison Park due to Preston's Deepdale pitch being unavailable. Elsewhere, Millwall secured their passage by beating QPR 2-0 on penalties at Loftus Road. Millwall goalkeeper Lukas Jensen was the hero, saving all four of QPR's spot-kicks. The game ended 1-1 after 90 minutes, with a late own goal cancelling out Luke Cundle’s opener for Millwall.

Cambridge United also progressed, mounting a quick comeback to defeat Barnet 2-1. Barnet took the lead after half-time, but Cambridge responded with goals from Ben Knight and debutant Isaac Heath within eight minutes to secure the win.
