The Duke of Sussex launched a new Invictus Games education programme, Inspire, during a visit to Ninestiles Academy in Birmingham. The scheme aims to use stories from Invictus competitors to educate children on resilience and mental fitness.
Prince Harry joined schoolchildren for a game of pickleball at the academy. He also answered questions from pupils, stating that the Invictus community inspires him.
Helen Helliwell, chief executive of the Invictus Games, stated that Inspire was developed to bring lessons about resilience and wellbeing into classrooms. She added that the programme would draw on the experiences of Invictus competitors and continue beyond the Birmingham Games, which are scheduled for 2027.
Former Invictus competitors, including double and triple amputees, also visited the school to discuss their experiences and demonstrate prosthetic limbs to pupils.
