Paris St-Germain have reached a deal in principle to acquire Barcelona forward Ferran Torres. The transfer fee for the Spain international is reported to be around 50m euros, which equates to approximately £42.7m.
Torres, aged 26, was granted permission to miss training this week as he worked to finalise the move. His value has reportedly increased following a strong season with Barcelona, where he scored 21 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions and provided three assists. He also contributed to Barcelona winning the La Liga title.
This summer, Torres helped Spain secure their second men's World Cup, scoring an extra-time winner against Argentina. If the deal proceeds, he will be PSG's second high-profile forward signing this summer, following the arrival of Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco.
