A new supergroup featuring members of X-Ray Spex, The Raincoats, and The Slits is set to perform at a London festival celebrating 50 years of punk. The group, named God Save The Queens, will be a centrepiece of the 'Up Yours! God Save The Queens' festival.

The festival aims to celebrate the past, present, and future of female punk, 50 years after pioneering women like X-Ray Spex singer Poly Styrene helped shape the genre. The supergroup will perform a one-off gig at Electric Brixton on Friday, October 16.

The headline performance will include an X-Ray Spex reunion with original members Lora Logic and Paul Dean, alongside Celeste Bell, Poly Styrene’s daughter, who will perform her mother’s songs. Other musicians joining the supergroup include Hollie Cook (The Slits), Gina Birch (The Raincoats), and Rhoda Dakar (The Bodysnatchers / The Specials).

The festival, curated by Celeste Bell and Lauren Estelle Jones, will take place across London until November 2026. A flagship exhibition will open on October 23 at the Museum of Youth Culture in Camden, featuring previously unseen artwork, photography, and archival fashion pieces.

Separately, The 100 Club will host two shows on September 20 and 21 to mark the 50th anniversary of its iconic 1976 punk gigs. Tickets for these shows will cost £1.50, the same price as in 1976.
