Premiership Women's Rugby (PWR) experienced a significant boost in its 2025-26 season, with average attendances climbing by 23.4%. This surge follows England's home World Cup victory at Twickenham in September 2025.
The league also reported substantial growth in digital engagement, including a 132% increase in social media following and a 310% expansion of its database. Viewing figures across YouTube, Meta, and TikTok soared by 174%, accumulating over 111 million views.
PWR executive chair Genevieve Shore noted the figures were encouraging, especially given the high benchmark set by the previous season, which featured United States star Ilona Maher. Maher's presence at Bristol Bears in the 2024-25 campaign generated considerable attention for the league.
The 2025-26 season marked the first time every PWR match was broadcast live across platforms such as TNT Sports, BBC Sport, and YouTube. The upcoming 2026-27 PWR season, comprising nine teams, is set to kick off in November.
