Qatar Racing takes over British Champions Day sponsorship for three years

Qatar Racing has taken over as the title sponsor of British Champions Day at Ascot, replacing QIPCO. This new sponsorship agreement will cover the next three editions of the event, starting this year.

British Champions Day, scheduled for 17 October, is the culmination of the Flat racing season and features five Group 1 races. The event, which has a prize fund of £4.4m, has been sponsored by QIPCO since its inception in 2011.

Sheikh Fahad bin Abdullah Al Thani, whose racing empire Qatar Racing is a subsidiary of QIPCO, stated that this change reflects the continued commitment of his brothers to British racing. Nick Smith, co-chair of British Champions Series Ltd and Director of Racing and Public Affairs at Ascot Racecourse, expressed gratitude for the longstanding support and looks forward to building on the event's success under the new brand name.
